The ending of Gachiakuta Season 1 left fans with surprising revelations and a massive cliffhanger. At the same time, the 24 episodes set the stage for an even more intense and larger second season. It’s no surprise, then, that fans of the anime are already eagerly waiting for a continuation.

But will there even be a second season of Gachiakuta? And if so, is there already an official release date?

Gachiakuta: What Happened in the Season 1 Finale

So much happens in the Season 1 finale that it’s almost impossible to cover everything. But at the heart of it all is Tamsy’s betrayal.

In Episode 24, it’s revealed that Amo is still alive, though she’s being held captive. When she regains consciousness, she realizes someone is approaching: Tamsy. In a shocking twist, he is exposed as a traitor among the Cleaners and the mastermind behind Amo’s abduction.

It appears Tamsy has been operating in the shadows for quite some time. He may have been the one who gave Amo the Watchman Series Boots, and could even have played a key role in Regto’s death as well as Rudo’s fall into the Pit. On top of that, a connection between Rudo and Canis Surebrec is hinted at, which, for the first time, offers an explanation as to why Rudo is compatible with the Watchman Series Gloves.

These developments mark a significant shift in the threat landscape. Tamsy emerges as the new primary antagonist while the Raiders fade into the background. Amo’s survival opens up exciting new possibilities for Season 2, where her role looks set to expand further.

Will there be a second season?

Fans of Gachiakuta have reason to celebrate: a second season has already been announced. On December 21, 2025, a mini-teaser officially confirmed that a continuation is currently in production.

The series is being produced by Studio Bones, with Fumihiko Suganuma (The Eccentric Family) serving as director. The anime adapts the manga of the same name by Kei Uurana and Hideyoshi Andou, which has been regularly serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2022.

    Gachiakuta Season 2 Release Date

Although a second season has already been officially confirmed, no release date has been announced yet. Fans are speculating that Season 2 could arrive sometime in late 2026 or spring 2027.

Take those estimates with a grain of salt, though. The one thing that is certain is that Studio Bones will once again be handling production.

With any luck, Season 2 could kick off as early as 2026. We’ll update this article as soon as more information becomes public.

How many episodes can we expect?

It’s still unclear how many episodes Gachiakuta Season 2 will have. The first season aired from July to December 2025 and consisted of 24 episodes.

Some fans believe the second season could be shorter, as there may not be enough manga material available for another long run. It’s possible that we’ll get around 12 episodes this time, unless the production of Season 2 is spread out over a longer period.

    What’s Next for the Story?

The story of Gachiakuta is far from over. Fans of the manga already know what lies ahead: Season 2 will likely adapt the Information Broker Arc and the First Job Arc, and the Doll Festival may also play a role.

Either way, fans of the action-packed series have plenty to look forward to: another season full of tension, major revelations, and epic moments.
