If you want to save spontaneously in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll need Saviour Schnapps – it’s an alchemical potion that lets you save manually, no matter where you are (except in combat or cutscenes).

    1. Where to get the recipe

Early in the game, while helping Bozhena and meeting Pavlena, you’ll receive the recipe for Saviour Schnapps – read the book in your inventory so it gets added to your alchemy book.

    2. Buying: The easy way

You can buy Saviour Schnapps from many merchants:

    • Apothecaries, taverns, and general traders often have one or two bottles in stock. Supplies restock every few in-game days.
    • Specifically, Dorothy (the bathhouse owner) and Apothecary Emmerich regularly offer stock. Merchants like Maid, Anton Stork, or Herbalist Barnaby sometimes have them too.

    3. Finding: Little treasure hunt

    • In Troskowitz, at the inn, you can find a bottle on the table upstairs.
    • During the quest “Speak of the Devil”, you’ll get more as a reward.
    • In abandoned chests somewhere in Kuttenberg or Troskowitz (underground mine, town hall cells, etc.), you can also find some.

    4. Brewing it yourself – the best option

If you need more (and want to save money), you can brew them yourself. You get the recipe early – you only need:

    • 1 Nettle
    • 2 Belladonna
    • Wine as the base

    Here’s how:

    1. Pour wine into the cauldron.
    2. Add nettle and boil for 2 sandglass turns.
    3. Grind belladonna.
    4. Add the belladonna paste and boil for 1 more turn.
    5. Pour into a phial – done: Saviour Schnapps.

Tip: If you let the sandglass run exactly and follow the steps properly, you’ll get “Strong Schnapps” or even more yield with the right alchemy perk.

If you use freshly picked nettle and dried belladonna, and time everything well, you’ll often get high quality results.

    5. Where to find the ingredients

    • Nettle is easy to find almost everywhere.
    • Belladonna is a bit rarer – common spots are the forests around Troskowitz, near Bozhena’s hut, or along small streams and paths.
    • If you don’t feel like collecting, you can also buy both ingredients from merchants.

    Quick Summary

    MethodAdvantagesDisadvantages
    BuyingFast, low effortExpensive, limited stock
FindingFree, sometimes good loot spotsRare, not reliable
BrewingLots of supply & saves moneyTime-consuming, needs ingredients

Get Saviour Schnapps in KCD 2

Want to save flexibly? Then always carry Saviour Schnapps with you – brew it yourself or buy it from the next shop. With a bit of practice, you can stock up nicely, especially if you’ve mastered the brewing technique. That way, you can save anytime if a bandit surprises you or a quest goes wrong – without having to repeat everything.
