MLBB Best Heroes to Carry Solo Queue in 2026

You check your last five solo queue losses. Four out of five, your jungler never rotated once. Here’s the good news about the 2026 meta in Mobile Legends Bang Bang: you don’t need to fix your teammates. You just need to pick a hero that carries without them. The right solo rank pick turns a coin flip into a real climb, even during the Mythic crunch.

What the 2026 Meta Actually Rewards

MLBB entered 2026 on the back of a messy patch cycle. The March 2026 update gutted Kagura’s damage scaling across three separate values, removed Terizla’s mana limitations entirely, and dropped Marcel into the game on March 11 as one of the most broken support releases in years. Moonton keeps favoring heroes who can win lanes without gank support, punish bad fights with burst damage, and solo-objective when the rest of the team scatters.

Translation: Solo queue is friendly again in MLBB, as long as you pick the right hero. The best heroes for solo rank share three traits. They scale hard enough to carry if the game drags past 15 minutes. They have mobility or crowd control that lets you disengage from lost teamfights. And they don’t need team coordination to push a turret or clear a Turtle.

Current Meta Tier List at a Glance

This is my working Mobile Legends tier list heading into the April 2026 patch.

Jungle: The Fastest Route to Solo Carry

Nothing ends solo queue games faster than a jungler who hits level 4 two minutes before the enemy. Hayabusa remains the safest jg pick in the meta because his shadow clone kit lets you farm efficiently, rotate for objectives, and dodge ganks without ever committing to a losing fight. The kit punishes squishy backlines, which is every team composition when your mid laner first-picks Layla.

Julian is the snowball option. If he lands two kills before the first Turtle, the game is usually over. His level 3 gank is deadly with Retribution reset potential, and he scales into a teamfight menace. He’s harder to pilot than Hayabusa because he demands sharp map awareness and smart blink timings, but the payoff is worth it.

Fredrinn is your panic pick when your team composition is a disaster. He’s a utility jungler with taunt, sustain, and objective control. You don’t always win solo carry games by killing everyone. Sometimes you win by refusing to die while your teammates figure out which buttons do damage.

EXP Lane Heroes Built to Snowball Games

The March 2026 patch removed Terizla’s mana limitations, which sounds minor until you realize he never has to back. He just sits in the exp lane, eats abilities, and outscales fighters who used to bully him. Freya got quiet buffs in back-to-back patches and now sits as a durable laner whose ultimate scaling punishes anyone who underestimates her late game. She’s also one of the simplest fighters to learn, which matters if you’re climbing from Legend into Mythic and need consistency over flash.

Sora and Lapu-Lapu round out the top EXP picks. Sora transforms between burst damage and tanky crowd-control forms, letting you decide when to play aggressively and when to frontline. Lapu-Lapu is still the frontline bully with sustain, CC, and a burst window that deletes mispositioned marksmen. He’s been meta for so long that people forget how disgusting he is, which is exactly when you lock him in.

Mid Lane Mages That Break Ranked Games

Mid lane in MLBB’s current meta is a mage playground. Zhuxin takes the crown because her execute potential pairs unfairly well with Sky Piercer. Hit a displacement, Sky Piercer procs, enemy explodes. She has been S-tier since her release, and the numbers have not come down.

Harley is the sleeper pick I actually recommend for climbing ranked. He has burst, mobility, and the rarest trait in MLBB: a clean kill-and-reset loop. Blink in, drop the combo, blink out. He’s a one-hero playstyle that doesn’t need a babysitter roam, which is the entire point of a solo carry.

Kadita rounds out the mid options with AoE burst, better mobility than she gets credit for, and a matchup that counters Zhuxin in the draft. Vale works in the same slot if you prefer longer-range poke with heavy zone control. Both handle the current wave of squishy mid laners with minimal fuss.

Gold Lane DPS and Sleeper Picks Worth Mastering

Gold lane in the current meta belongs to Kimmy, Karrie, and Granger. Kimmy’s revamp added a wall-passing escape and a clean CC option, turning her into the highest-ceiling gold laner in the game. Karrie melts tanks by ignoring their defenses, which matters because the meta is tank-heavy. Granger’s infinite scaling still holds up, his late game is violent, and his burst windows are consistent enough to solo carry lost teamfights.

If you want picks that feel illegal at your current MMR, look at Helcurt, Masha, Badang, and Cici. Helcurt’s vision-disabling ultimate wrecks solo queue teamfights because your teammates already don’t look at the minimap, and now they literally cannot. Masha destroys towers and objectives single-handedly. Badang’s wall combo is a one-button kill if you land it. Cici has enough mobility to dodge almost every ultimate in the game with decent timing.

    Skipping the Hero Unlock Grind

Unlocking the full hero roster in MLBB takes time; however, you can always buy a Mobile Legends account with every hero on websites like igitems or BoostRoyal to speed things up. The heroes above are worth the grind either way, but a full roster removes the frustration of locking in your third-best pick because your main is still gated behind hero fragments.

How to Actually Climb With These Picks

Pick two heroes per role, not ten. Solo queue punishes indecision more than a smaller hero pool. Pair one hard carry like Hayabusa, Karrie, or Zhuxin with one utility option like Fredrinn, Lapu-Lapu, or Freya to flex the draft. Focus on objectives instead of kills: Turtle at two minutes, Lord at eight, and farm the jungle camps your lane rotates past.

If your teammates are feeding while you’re reading this, remember the 2026 meta rewards heroes who don’t need them. Pick one from the list above, play ten ranked games with it, and stop blaming the roam. Master one hero, master the map, and the climb to Mythic stops feeling like gambling.
