At the end of February 2026, the long-awaited series Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai was released on Netflix. Once again, it delivered epic battles, intense action, and plenty of raw masculinity. However, even after the 13 episodes released so far, the arc surrounding the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto is far from over.
Fans of the anime are therefore wondering if and when a new season of the martial arts adventure will be released. Here you’ll find everything we know so far about the second season.
Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai: What Happened in the Finale
After several other fighters have already challenged the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto, Jack Hammer now sets his sights on doing the same. Izo Motobe, however, is determined to stop him and he actually succeeds, using a series of cunning tricks to bring Jack down.
At the same time, the prehistoric human Pickle makes his return, familiar to fans from Baki Hanma Season 2. Terrified civilians look on as he hauls an enormous saltwater crocodile out of a canal with nothing but his bare strength.
The moment Musashi lays eyes on the primitive giant, he knows exactly who his next opponent must be. But will that fight ever come to pass? Izo has sworn to protect Pickle at any cost, even if that means stepping into the ring against the samurai himself.
Will there be a second season?
There has been no official confirmation of a second season of Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai so far. Neither Netflix nor the animation studio TMS Entertainment has announced a continuation.
However, it’s quite likely that the Baki Dou anime will continue. Baki is one of the most popular martial arts franchises in the anime industry, and there are still plenty of manga chapters that haven’t been adapted yet. So there’s certainly no shortage of source material.

Baki Dou: Season 2 Release Date
If Baki-Dou does get a second season, fans likely won’t have to wait too long. Speculation in the community points to the anime continuing as early as late 2026 or sometime in early 2027.
For now, though, that’s all it is: speculation. Looking at the predecessor series Baki Hanma, there was a gap of roughly two years between Season 1 and Season 2. Within Season 2, however, things moved quickly: Part 2 dropped just one month after the first.
It’s also worth noting that it isn’t even clear yet whether calling it a “second season” is the right framing at all. Netflix may well release the continuation as a single consolidated season, in which case what follows would be better described as Part 2.
Should any official announcements regarding a second season of Baki-Dou be made, we will update this article.
How many episodes can we expect?
When it comes to Baki, Netflix usually sticks to a consistent episode count. Most parts of the anime series have ranged between 12 and 14 episodes:
- Baki (Part 1): 13 episodes
- Baki (Part 2): 13 episodes
- Baki (Part 3): 13 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 1): 12 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 1): 13 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 2): 14 episodes
- Baki-Dou (Season 1): 13 episodes
It’s very likely that Baki-Dou Season 2 will follow a similar pattern. With around 12–14 episodes, the “Invincible Samurai Arc” should be fully concluded. After that, the story continues with the Sumo Arc.
Baki-Dou: What Happens Next in Season 2?
Fans of the Baki manga already know how the story of Musashi Miyamoto unfolds from here. Without getting into spoilers, we can say that Season 2 looks set to deliver plenty of action, compelling characters, and epic moments. Musashi is still searching for a worthy opponent, and Pickle appears to be stepping back into the picture at just the right time.
With Baki having taken something of a backseat in the first season, fans are also wondering when he’ll get his chance to face the legendary samurai again. After all, Musashi is the only one who has managed to cure his boredom.
The Current State of the Baki Manga
Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki manga has long since moved past the Baki-Dou arc. The Invincible Samurai Arc was followed by the Sumo Arc, and the series has now moved on to its sixth story in the saga, titled Baki Rahen. It began its run in Weekly Shonen Champion in August 2023, with new chapters releasing every two to three weeks.
