In December 2022, the Korean webtoon Lookism was adapted into an anime. Ever since Netflix dropped those first 8 episodes, fans have been eagerly waiting for more. But the series has gone almost completely quiet in the years since: no news, no teasers, nothing.
Will there even be a Season 2 of Lookism? And if so, when could it realistically arrive on Netflix?
What Is Lookism About?
Park Hyeong-seok is unpopular and bullied at school because of his weight. Hoping to escape his problems, he decides to move to Seoul and attend a new high school.
However, just a few nights before starting school, something unexpected happens: Park’s body transforms, becoming athletic and attractive. He now has two bodies. When he uses one, the other falls asleep. By waking the sleeping body, he can switch between them.
At night, Park uses his original body, while during the day he lives in his new, handsome one. Suddenly, he experiences kindness from others and quickly rises to popularity, becoming a social media influencer, a trainee at an entertainment company, and even a model.
The anime was produced by Studio Mir, a Korean studio known for series like The Legend of Korra and Dota: Dragon’s Blood. The series is directed by Han Kwang-il.

Lookism: No Season 2 Announcement Yet
Netflix has yet to announce a second season of Lookism, and Studio Mir, which handled the anime adaptation, hasn’t shared any news on the matter either.
For now, that simply means we shouldn’t expect a continuation anytime soon. Some fans have begun to speculate that Lookism didn’t perform well enough and that Netflix has quietly cancelled the series.
A lack of source material, at least, shouldn’t be the issue. The original Lookism webtoon spans more than 600 chapters, and the first season barely scratched the surface of the story. A second season could easily cover several more story arcs without running out of material.
Should any official information about Lookism Season 2 surface, we’ll update this article accordingly.
When Could Season 2 Be Released?
If Lookism does eventually continue, Netflix will likely announce an official release date. Until then, all we can do is speculate. Some fans are hoping for a continuation in late 2026 or early 2027, but how realistic those expectations are remains uncertain.
Where to Pick Up Lookism in the Webtoon
For those who don’t want to pin their hopes on a potential second season, the story of Lookism is easy to continue in the webtoon the anime is based on. Written by Korean author Park Tae-joon, it has been releasing regularly online since 2014.
To pick up right where the anime left off, Chapter 28 is the place to start. That’s where the Paprika TV Arc begins. Just keep in mind that the webtoon spans more than 600 chapters and is still ongoing, so buckle up for quite the ride.
