Wind Breaker was one of the anime highlights of spring 2025. After the conclusion of Season 2, fans are eagerly wondering how the story of Haruka Sakura and Furin High School will continue. But will there even be a third season? And if so, is there already an official release date?

What Happened in the Season Finale

Anyone who has watched the Season 2 finale knows that the story of Wind Breaker is far from finished. A series of plot twists and surprises have already set the stage for what’s to come.

As the finale reveals, Yamato Endo is the one pulling the strings behind the scenes, stepping into the role of the true antagonist. Also making his move is Chika Takiishi, a new adversary who stands closely by Endo’s side. During his time at Furin High, he was even stronger than Hajime Umemiya and his cruelty appears to be the only thing that rivals his strength.

Wind Breaker: Has Season 3 already been announced?

Although it’s clear that the story is far from over, it is still unknown whether a third season of Wind Breaker will be released. Neither the studio CloverWorks nor any streaming platform has officially announced a continuation.

However, the lack of official information doesn’t mean that a third season won’t happen. Given the success of the first two seasons, it’s actually quite likely that the anime will continue.

There is certainly no shortage of source material. The anime is based on the Wind Breaker manga of the same name, which goes far beyond the events covered in the series so far. Several major arcs remain to be adapted, diving deeper into the story’s gang conflicts.

Wind Breaker Season 3: Release Date Speculation

While there’s no official release date for Season 3 of Wind Breaker just yet, we can at least speculate. The gap between the first two seasons was roughly a year, so if production on the next season doesn’t take significantly longer, a 2026 debut seems like a realistic possibility.

Fans should keep in mind, however, that this is purely speculation until official information is confirmed. We’ll update this article as soon as anything new comes to light.

Which studio will produce Season 3?

Studio CloverWorks was responsible for producing the first two seasons of Wind Breaker. The studio is also known for anime such as Spy x Family, Bocchi the Rock!, and The Promised Neverland.

It is still unclear which studio will handle Season 3 of Wind Breaker. However, given the success of the series, it’s likely that CloverWorks could return to produce a potential third season—though this remains speculation.

Wind Breaker: Which Manga Chapter to Pick Up From

For those who don’t want to wait for the anime to continue, the story is easy to follow in the manga. To pick up right where the last episode left off, start with Chapter 88. That’s where the buildup to the Noroshi War Arc begins.

The manga is written by Satoru Nii and first launched in 2021 on the Japanese platform Magazine Pocket. New chapters drop every Wednesday, and there’s no end in sight.

One thing worth clarifying, as it tends to cause confusion: Satoru Nii’s Wind Breaker is not the same as the Korean webtoon of the same name. While the webtoon is also popular, it follows an entirely different story and was cancelled in July 2025 following plagiarism allegations.
